WHAT SHOULD I WEAR
Bring along a selection of different tops. Different colours and necklines, Think about the sort of looks you want to portray. You will look different in a shirt than you do in a t-shirt. Avoid busy patterens, stripes and anything too fussy around the neck.

SHOULD I WEAR MAKEUP
You should come for your session wearing whatever makeup you would normally wear. At the moment the preference is for a natural look.

CAN I HAVE SOME PICTURES TAKEN WITH MY HAIR UP
Yes. Arrive at the studio with the most complicated hair style already done. Generally speaking it is easier and quicker to let hair down than put it up. You don’t want to waste your session hairdressing.

GENERAL NOTES ABOUT HAIR
Your hair has a big impact on the way you look. Make sure you are happy with your style well before your photo session. If you don’t like your hair, you are not going to like your pictures.

DO NOT
radically change the style of your hair just before you are coming in for your session. If you are intending to have a drastic change of style or colour, do this at least a week or ten days before your session.

SHOULD I BRING ALONG MY PREVIOUS PICTURES
Generally it is only useful if there is something you or your agent particularly liked or disliked about them, but bring them along anyway, sometimes they ‘re a good laugh.

I HATE HAVING MY PICTURE TAKEN……..
It is very difficult for a Photographer to take good pictures of someone who doesn’t want to be there! These pictures are important to you and to me. Please aim to come and enjoy the session rather than treat it as a chore. If all else fails, you’re an actor, think youreself into the role of someone who does enjoy being in front of camera!

IS DIGITAL AS GOOD AS FILM….
Yes… and now even better. When I first started I used a Kodak DCS520 camera which was more than capable of doing this job. Now I use a Canon D1S the resolution of which is greater than 35mm film and is on par (if not better) than medium format.
